Description

The SWYC is a screening instrument that includes questions covering a broad range of developmental areas in children under 5 years of age. It is designed to be free of cost and easily accessible to parents, pediatric primary care providers (PPCPs), home visit providers, preschool teachers, nurses, and other professionals involved in child care and early education. It includes items that assess cognitive, language, motor, and social-emotional development, as well as family risk factors (e.g., parental depression, conflict, substance abuse, and hunger) and behaviors suggestive of autism spectrum disorder (ASD).
